Why choose the Classical Method of Pilates?

This method promotes the classical system, as taught by Joseph Pilates, and does not focus on variations or implementations of other philosophies. The classical method of training is the most rigorous of all pilates certification programs. Apprentices spend a minimum of 600 hours of observation and hands-on training.

What is the difference between mat Pilates and using the apparatus?

The mat work is what Joseph Pilates created first. It is done using your own body for stability. The resistance springs on the apparatus allow you to exercise the smaller muscle groups that support the joints and the deeper core muscles that are frequently neglected in other workout methods. It is important to understand that Joseph Pilates created a system including network and resistance exercises using apparatus. You will reap the benefits if you do both.
